West Fork was the prime contractor for design and fabrication of the new 6’ fiberglass flumes and PIT antennas recently installed by the US Army Corps of Engineers in spillbay four and five at the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in Ballard, WA. The new flumes are designed to provide a safe transit path for juvenile salmon and steelhead leaving the Lake Washington system. The flumes incorporate synchronized antennas into the mold for a seamless path for fish as well as high detection efficiency of PIT tags.
