West Fork contracted with the Washington State Dept. of Natural Resources (WADNR) to manufacture and install Montana style hydraulic flumes for the Eastside Type N Riparian Effectiveness Project (ENREP). We fabricated the FRP hydraulic flumes to exacting geometries and dimensions in our shop beginning with generation of a 3D model in CAD software. During the fabrication of the flumes we worked with WADNR and Univeristy of Idaho hydrologists to design a leveling support system that will allow for researchers to make fine scale adjustments to level in two planes for ongoing maintenance during the 6-year study. Flumes will be the primary method by which the effects of timber harvest on seasonal runoff patterns and volume will be evaluated.
